This Fiesta came in with a spongy brake pedal. The cars braking system had been bled out but still the pedal feel didn’t improve.
While checking for leaks on the system we noticed the ABS (anti lock brake system) unit had a leak from the seal between the pump and body. This was made easier to spot by the bubbling paint on the pump casing.
The unit was sent away to be rebuilt by a specialist company. When it arrived back with us we refitted the unit to its mounting bracket which had been cleaned up and repainted to stop any corrosion. The brakes were bled and the pedal feel was perfect. A successful repair to an important system on any car.
